Away we go again! The Jones on Tour continues on its travels around Wales, once again highlighting some locations, activities and attractions we love and hope you will enjoy.
As always, this will not be a comprehensive selection, just a random sample, a little snack perhaps, of what we like and makes us proud to be ‘o Gymru’. And as you’d expect, we’ll give you a heads up on where to find our Jones o Gymru products, to make your visit that extra special!
This time we’ll aim for Swansea, stopping to enjoy the historic Carmarthen on our way. Start with a visit to Y Sied for your caffeine fix and pick up some Jones o Gymru delights. Then take some time for a stroll through the town’s charming streets and visit the Norman Carmarthen Castle , which reminds us of its rich and fascinating history.
Explore the Merlin's Hill Centre: Discover the legends and folklore associated with Merlin, the famous wizard, at this interactive visitor centre - some fabulous views too!
The Carmarthenshire County Museum gives you a greater insight on the local history, archaeology, and art of Carmarthenshire at this fascinating museum - and a visit to Stacey’s Kitchen for a bite to eat [including Jones o Gymru snacks!] is a must!
Check out what’s on at the Lyric Theatre, the local community theatre, which hosts a range of performances, including plays, concerts, and films.
Explore the nearby Gwili Railway and make time to take a nostalgic steam train ride through the picturesque Gwili Valley and enjoy the scenic views.
Finally, no visit to this area could be complete without a trip to Laugharne. Just a short drive from Carmarthen, visit where Dylan Thomas lived between 1949 and 1953, and explore his boathouse and the wonderful views across the Taf estuary.
And as we head south, we’ll call at Cwmcerrig Farm Shop and stock up on some Jones o Gymru produce to sustain us as we head for Swansea!
On your journey down, why not stop off at Kidwelly Castle - see Kidwelly Castle rising above the river Gwendraeth on a misty morning and prepare to be amazed. You'll also be amazed by the lovely shops and restaurants [Parc y Bocs Farm Shop and The Old Moat House] in the area too - of course stocking your favourite Jones produce.
And so to Swansea, a city and area offering a range of attractions and activities to enjoy.
Visit Swansea Bay to relax on the sandy beaches, take a stroll along the promenade, or try water sports like surfing, paddleboarding, or kayaking. On the way look out for Common Meeple and pick up some Jones stuff!
Exploring the nearby Gower Peninsula is a must, to discover some truly stunning landscapes and beautiful beaches like Rhossili Bay and Three Cliffs Bay.
Visit Swansea Marina to take a leisurely walk around and admire the boats and the vibrant atmosphere with restaurants, cafes, and shops.
Find the National Waterfront Museum to learn about the industrial heritage of Wales and explore interactive exhibits that showcase the history of Swansea and its maritime past.
And following on from our visit to Laugharne, then why not visit the Dylan Thomas Centre to learn more about the life and works of the famous Welsh poet, through interactive exhibits and events.
Sport features heavily here and heck the schedules to catch a rugby or football match at the Liberty Stadium, home to Swansea City FC and Ospreys Rugby
For those of you visiting friends, family, children studying at University of Wales Trinity St David, you’ll find an array of Jones o Gymru snacks available here at the Carmarthen [Yr Egin] and Swansea campus!
